Privacy policy

Command Wheel stores its data under %LOCALAPPDATA%\CommandWheel. The local data can include:

• The wheel database and settings, including wheel names, action labels, tooltips, colors, icon paths and indexes, activation shortcuts and modes, and configured action details.
• Configured application targets and arguments, website addresses, file and folder paths, keyboard shortcuts, text snippets, and PowerShell commands.
• Local backups and recovery files created when configurations are imported, reset, migrated, or recovered.
• An icon cache containing icons extracted from applications or other local files.
• Local diagnostic log files.

Configuration files that you deliberately export are stored at the location you select.

Command Wheel does not include telemetry, product analytics, advertising tracking, or automatic remote crash reporting. It does not require an account and does not ask for personal information inside the application.

Command Wheel creates local diagnostic logs to record application events, action types, outcomes, and errors. These logs remain on the user’s computer unless the user chooses to provide them in a support request. Command Wheel is designed not to write configured URLs, application targets, file or folder paths, arguments, PowerShell commands, keyboard shortcuts, or text snippets to its structured logs. Logs rotate when they reach approximately 2 MB, and up to five rotated log files may be retained.

Command Wheel does not automatically send configuration, logs, telemetry, analytics, crash reports, diagnostics, or personal information to KaruSystems OÜ or another application-operated service.

When you activate an action that opens a website or email address, Command Wheel passes that address to the handler registered in Windows, such as your web browser or email application. That application and the destination service may process the address and related information under their own policies. Likewise, applications and PowerShell commands you configure can independently access local or online resources.

Application data leaves your computer only through an action you configure, an export you create, or information you voluntarily send in a support request.

Command Wheel uses Windows integrations to register a global keyboard or mouse shortcut, detect shortcut release, read the pointer position and active window, display the radial overlay and notification-area tray icon, restore focus, and send configured keyboard input or text to the active application.

It may open configured applications, websites, files, folders, and PowerShell commands using Windows. It reads local executable and icon resources to display selected icons and reads Windows display, work-area, visual-effects, and high-contrast settings to position and render the wheel.

If you enable “Start with Windows,” a packaged installation uses the Windows Startup Task integration. An unpackaged installation stores an entry for Command Wheel in the current user’s Windows Run registry key. Command Wheel does not request administrator access for these operations.

Uninstalling Command Wheel does not automatically remove all user-created settings and local application data. Command Wheel deliberately stores its configuration, backups, icon cache, and diagnostic logs under %LOCALAPPDATA%\CommandWheel so that they can remain available after an upgrade or reinstallation. Users can delete this folder manually if they want to remove all locally stored Command Wheel data. Configuration files exported to another location must be deleted separately.

To remove all locally stored Command Wheel data:

1. Exit Command Wheel using its notification-area tray menu.
2. Export any wheel configurations you want to retain.
3. Open File Explorer.
4. Enter %LOCALAPPDATA% in the address bar.
5. Delete the CommandWheel folder.

This removes the local wheel database, settings, backups, icon cache, and diagnostic logs. Exported JSON files saved elsewhere are not removed and must be deleted separately.

If you voluntarily contact KaruSystems OÜ, we process the information you provide—such as your email address, message, screenshots, configuration exports, or diagnostic logs—to investigate and respond to your request. Please remove information you do not want to share before attaching files.

Support and privacy messages are delivered to a company-managed Google/Gmail inbox. Google acts as our email service provider and may process this information in accordance with its privacy policy ↗ and applicable data-processing terms ↗. We do not claim that support information is processed only in Estonia or the European Economic Area.

Information voluntarily submitted in a support request is retained only for as long as necessary to investigate, respond to, and document the request. Support correspondence will normally be deleted or anonymized no later than 12 months after the request is closed, unless a longer period is required to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims or to comply with a legal obligation.

KaruSystems OÜ does not sell support information. We disclose it only when necessary to provide support through our service providers, when you ask us to, or when required by law.

We use reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect support correspondence. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.

Subject to applicable data-protection law, you may ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or portability of your personal information, or object to its processing. You may withdraw consent where consent applies and complain to the relevant supervisory authority.

These rights apply to information KaruSystems OÜ processes, such as support correspondence. Locally stored Command Wheel data remains under your control and can be removed using the instructions above.

Because Command Wheel is distributed through Microsoft Store, Microsoft may independently process Store account, purchase, licensing, download, update, device, and diagnostic information under Microsoft’s own terms and privacy policies. KaruSystems OÜ does not control Microsoft’s independent processing.
